Realme Narzo N55 Review

The first smartphone in the brand-new Narzo N-series family from Realme is the Narzo N55. This is a low-cost option that is mostly similar to the recently released Realme C55 (review).

Like the C-series smartphone, the Realme Narzo N55 has a 90Hz refresh rate FHD+ display, a MediaTek CPU, a camera configuration, a battery capacity, fast charging capabilities, and software.

This begs the issue of who would benefit most from the Narzo N55. To discover out, read this review through.

Stylish Design

  • 165.6 x 75.9 x 7.89 mm
  • 188 g
  • Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by)
  • Plastic frame and back with a two-tone finish

We’ve seen some really beautiful designs, and the Narzo N55 is one of them. It’s uncomplicated but attractive visually. It lacks any eye-catching RGB extras or patterns that change color. silver rings on the cameras and a straightforward, basic two-tone appearance. You may need to give the plastic back a good massage from time to time because it tends to smear.

The phone feels substantial when held in your hand. The rounded corners make it simpler to handle the phone, giving it a more tactile experience. Grabbing the plastic frame when picking it up off the table does make it slippery.

Note: “The Narzo N55 brings a minimalistic two-tone back with a hole punch on the front.”

On the right side of the phone are the fingerprint scanner and volume rocker buttons. The phone’s sim tray is located on the left side, and the bottom is home to the USB-C connector, microphone, solitary speaker, and the elusive 3.5mm headphone jack.

Display

  • 6.72-inches FHD+ IPS
  • 1080 x 2400 pixels
  • 90Hz refresh rate

The phone has an attractive look because of its boxy shape and dual-tone matte shiny plastic back. While the twin camera arrangement is housed in the upper shiny curved box that draws attention to the camera rings, the rear does not pick up significant fingerprint smudges.

It weighs 189.5 grams and has a 7.89 mm thickness. It has a high-end glass quality and feels great in the hand.

It has a 6.72-inch IPS LCD display with 90Hz refresh rate. With a 20:9 aspect ratio, the resolution is 1080X2040 (FHD+) pixels. At 680 nits, its peak brightness is rather decent when it’s in direct sunlight. Its screen offers 16.7 million colors and a touch sampling rate of 180 Hz.

Expected Performance

  • Mediatek Helio G88 (12nm)
  • Octa-core (2×2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6×1.8 GHz Cortex-A55)
  • Mali-G52 MC2
  • 6GB RAM 128GB storage

We’ve seen the Helio G88 processor on several low-cost products. With a 12nm Octa-core (2×2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6×1.8 GHz Cortex-A55) CPU and Mali-G52 MC2 GPU, it’s a good performance for this price range.

Note: “Narzo N55 is smooth in daily usage. App switching is fast and task killing is not overly aggressive. However, heavy apps tend to restart.”

The Helio G88 seems inferior in terms of pure gaming capability to its primary rivals, who are currently selling the Helio G99. Moreover, gaming can only use a 60Hz refresh rate.

Camera

  • Rear Camera: 64 MP, f/1.8, (wide), 1/2″, 0.7µm, PDAF
    • 2 MP, f/2.4, (depth)
    • Video: 1080p@30/60fps
  • Front Camera: 8 MP, f/2.0, (wide)
    • Video: 1080p@30fps

The 16MP binned images were frequently oversaturated while having excellent focus and detail. When zoomed in, the 64MP images contained more information than the binned photos. The photos had a pleasing appearance and a neutral color profile.

The tone of the 8MP front camera is natural. Unlike the reverse, the colors are not enhanced. The camera captures details in things with vibrant colors and has decent exposure. The phone can record in 1080p@60 frames per second. The video is quite wobbly because there is absolutely no stabilization.

Battery

  • Non-removable Li-Po 5000mAh battery
  • 33W fast charging

The battery management of the Narzo N55 is amazing. With 50% of the energy remaining at the end of the day, the 5000mAh battery allowed for nearly 4 hours and 30 minutes of screen time.

Realme claimed that the 33W fast charger could charge a 50% battery in 29 minutes. Our product charged from 0% to 100% in little more than an hour, as stated by them.

Software and performance

  • Android 13
  • Realme UI 4.0

The MediaTek Helio G88 CPU, when combined with 12GB dynamic RAM, powers the Realme Narzo N55 smartphone. Daily duties may be completed using the smartphone with great ease. This is not a gaming smartphone, thus while playing games with a lot of graphics, like Asphalt 9, it will lag. But video games worked flawlessly, such as Mighty DOOM.
