Namrata Shrestha was a part of a controversy after her sex video with Kichaa M Chitrakar, aka DJ Tantrik was leaked in September 2009.

The eight-minute intimate video of her went viral on social media. Three more videos of 2.25, 14, and 28 minutes were released after the first sex tape.

Namrata Shrestha on the death of Saruk Tamrakar:

Saruk Tamrakar committed suicide and was found dead in his home in Ratopul, Kathmandu, on Thursday. Saruk’s body was found hanging in his room according to the Sitaram Rijal, the Kathmandu Police Range SP. The late actor was hanging from the top of his staircase using a PVC pipe.

Namrata and Saruk were shooting for their upcoming movie “Hashtag Maya”, it is said that that night Namrata took Saruk and tied the booti on Saruk, however, it is said that Namrata might have tied the booti on Saruk to keep closeness. According to Saruk’s father, “My son never wore any metal.” But recently, I saw him wearing a silver-like white metal object tied with a black rope in his throat.”

Sources also say that when Namrata reached Saruk’s house after Saruk’s suicide, Namrata made a call to Baba (priest).
