Hosaena, also called Hosaina is a beautiful town situated in southern Ethiopia and is the administrative center of the Hadiya Zone. It is located at an elevation of 2177 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by Limo woreda and was earlier surrounded by it.

This city is surrounded by lush hills and valleys which is well known for its coffee production. In addition, Hosaena is an easy way to explore nearby sites such as Hadiya Zone Hot Springs, the Bale Mountains National Park, and the Sidi and Kacha waterfalls.

Best Time to Visit Hosaena

The best time to visit Hosaena, Ethiopia is during the dry season i.e. October-February. During this month, the weather is normally sunny and dry, and moderate also a lower chance of heavy rainfall. However, if you prefer less crowds, then visit during the month of March-April, or September-October.

  • By Air: Arba Minch Airport around 135km away from Hosaena is the closest airport to the town, then you can book a cab to get to Hosaena.
  • By Road: From Addis Ababa, you can drive to Hosaena by bus or car, which takes around 6-7 hours.
