The Ghangri Circuit is the trek to the most holy lake in Nepal, Gosaikunda. This is a newly discovered, less-travelled, and unexplored trekking route where you can see the beautiful Himalayas, high green hills, villages, lakes, and many more.
The journey starts in Syabrubesi and continues through the Hyolmo Valley, passing through villages and lakes until you arrive at Gosaikunda Lake.
The Ghangri word is defined as the Himalayas and the people living on its foothills, Ghanmi.
This trial is believed to have been taken by Lord Shiva and Parbati after Lord Shiva consumed the deadly kaaljut poison.
Here are a few of the Ghangri Circuit’s highlights.
1. The Hyolmo Valley
This valley is the most famous place for tourists and trekkers. Most of the Tibetan people live in this valley, which is known for its culture, lifestyle, traditions, and festivals.
2. Tashi Samling Gumba
Tashi Samling Gumba is a religious place which shows the tradition and culture of this place. Mainly it shows the Buddhist religion. Especially, people from Hyolmo and Tamang communities come here.
3. The Helambu Pass
This is the pass where you can see some of the highest mountains, such as Mount Everest, Makalu, Lotse, and Langtang.
4. The Gosaikunda Lake
Gosaikunda Lake has significant religious importance for both Hindus and Buddhists. Many people from different countries visit here to see the beauty of the lake.

Guidance for planning in Ghangri Circuit Trek:
- The best time to trek is during the spring (March-May) or autumn (September-November)
- The trek is around 100 kilometers (62 miles) long and takes 7-10 days to complete.
