Black Shark 4 Pro Review
Design
The Black Shark 4 Pro maintains the majority of the features that its predecessor offered in terms of appearance. The Shadow Black model I’ve been testing boasts an all-glass construction that screams (and feels) expensive, along with a sleek, pebble-like backing.
The back has Black Shark’s trademark X symbol, which is understated yet stylish enough to captivate anybody who looks at it for more than a few seconds. The pattern nearly seems three-dimensional when lit properly.
Even so, it won’t be difficult for onlookers to distinguish the Black Shark 4 Pro from, say, an iPhone. The 4 Pro’s triple-lens array is housed in an intriguing hexagonal back camera arrangement. When entering and exiting pockets, the Black Shark 4 Pro still manages to gather dust around the edges, although not being as noticeable as other camera bumps I’ve seen.
Display
The display category is where the Black Shark 4 Pro shines. With an astounding 6.67-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2400) display, E4 AMOLED technology delivers a bright, detailed, and vibrant visual experience that is ideal for both mobile gaming and movie viewing.
The Black Shark 4 Pro excels in the display area. E4 AMOLED technology produces an incredibly bright, vivid, and dynamic visual experience with a 6.67-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2400) display. This makes it perfect for both mobile gaming and movie watching.
Camera
At the back of the Black Shark 4 Pro is a triple camera array consisting of a 5MP macro, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 64MP primary camera. The 64MP primary will be your go-to tool for most of your picture and video projects.
Surprisingly, the 5MP macro and 8MP ultra-wide lenses generated less saturated and frequently less detailed images than the primary lens. In terms of minimizing lens distortion and enhancing the natural look of landscape photographs, I would say that the ultra-wide lens performed rather well.
It’s true that the Black Shark 4 Pro was designed with gaming in mind, but the camera system doesn’t exactly trail behind. For optimal results, use the primary 64MP camera.
Battery life
The Black Shark 4 Pro’s 4,500mAh battery isn’t quite up to par with the 6,000mAh batteries offered by devices like the Asus ROG Phone 5S and even non-gaming phones like the 5,000mAh Moto G200, at least not in theory.
However, in real-world testing, I discovered that the Black Shark 4 Pro could easily last me through a full day of use depending on what I was doing with a combination of light gaming, messaging, tweeting, and calling.

12/256GB | 4,499 Yuan | NPR 92,000 | |
16/512GB | 5,299 Yuan | NPR 108,000 |
Conclusion
The Black Shark 4 Pro is a really well-made gaming phone that has all the bells and whistles we’ve grown accustomed to seeing on one. Even better, it offers a starting price of NPR 50,000 which is less expensive than most competitors without sacrificing functionality or processing speed. Just be ready for a rather poor battery life, a hefty skin atop Android, and a slower cadence of software updates. The Black Shark 4 Pro might be the ideal gaming phone for you if you can overlook those drawbacks.
