Sandeep Lamichhane started his career at the Chitwan Cricket Academy. When he was just 14 years old, the Canadian coach Pubudu Dassanayake chose him for the youth camp after being impressed by his bowling abilities.
When Sandeep was selected for the ICC Under-19 World Cup in 2016, he showed off his bowling ability by taking five wickets and completing a hat-trick against Ireland, bowling Lorcan Tucker, Adam Dennison, and Fiachra Tucker to the wicket. With a bowling average of 5/27, he set the competition record and was named Man of the Match.
In the ICC World Cricket League Championship between 2015 and 2017, he made his debut against Namibia. When Sandeep and Michael Clarke played together at the Hong Kong Twenty20 blitz in May 2016, the former Australian captain was impressed by Sandeep’s talent and drive. Controversies
A 17-year-old girl complained about Lamichhane at Gaushala Metropolitan Police Circle in September of 2022. As per the police report, the offense took place on August 21, 2022. The girl said that she was a fan of the cricket player and that they frequently spoke with one another on Snapchat and WhatsApp.
Later that month, Sandeep Lamichhane was placed on the Interpol member states’ police escapee list after Nepal police issued a release notice against him through the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).
Lamichhane then confirmed his innocence in a Facebook post. “All of the accusations against me have affected me mentally,” he said. I have isolated myself since I am under a lot of mental stress and am not well. I’ve been heeding the doctor’s suggestions,” Lamichhane declared. “I’ll return to Nepal as soon as I can.”

The Kathmandi District Court supervised by Shishir Raj Dhakal, found Sandeep Lamichhane of raping the girl known as “Gaushala 26” by taking advantage of her financial situation on December 29, 2023.
